Multi-Sports Camp at Old Westbury

Future Stars Summer Camps is excited to once again offer Multi-Sports as one of our core summer camp programs.

Summer 2013 at The College at Old Westbury will offer eight weekly sessions.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The Multi-Sports program is designed to be the perfect blend of sports, recreational games, and camaraderie with campers - entering grades 3-12 - participating in a multitude of exciting, fun-filled games. The curriculum is designed to be fun and instructional, and includes age appropriate skill building activities. Campers learn all the fundamentals with which to build a solid sports foundation. They are taught proper technique, strategy, and sportsmanship with the same philosophy that has been the Future Stars trademark for over 30 years.

Directors and coaches are experienced and certified sports instructors with the vast majority employed year-round in the Physical Education field.

Sports and games may/will include: Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, European Handball, Kickball, Dodgeball, Nukem, Flag Football, Badminton, Table-Tennis, Touch Rugby, Bocce, GaGa Ball, and more!

Campers are also educated in the various value themes and character traits that can be exemplified in the various sports and activities the Multi-Sports program covers.

Multi-SportsThe College at Old Westbury is a wooded 600+ acre campus centrally located in Nassau County, Long Island.

The College at Old Westbury athletics dept sponsors 13 NCAA DIII intercollegiate teams participating in the Skyline Conference.

Future Stars Summer Camps utilize the college athletics facilities of The College at Old Westbury and additional campus facilities for all programs.

 

Clark Athletic Center outdoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Jackie Robinson Baseball & Softball Complex, 6 All-Weather Tennis Courts, Full-Sized training fields, Basketball Courts, Hitting Walls, and more!

Clark Athletic Center indoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Collegiate Heated Swimming Pool, 3 Full Gymnasiums, Racquetball Courts, Panther Pride Room, Locker Rooms, Athletic Training Room, and more!

Campus Center facilities include air conditioned cafeteria, recital hall, classrooms, and more!

Additional Future Stars Summer Camps specials include The Big Kahuna Waterslide, Gaga Ball Pit, Inflatable Sports Field, 150ft Slip'n'Slide,and 9 Hole Soccer Golf Course.

DIRECTOR:

Hilary Pavels returns to Future Stars Summer Camps, and will direct and oversee all aspects of the Multi-Sports program for Summer 2013. A standout DII student athlete at Adelphi University, Hilary garnered multiple awards during her career including All NE-10 First Team, AVCA All Region, and was also named to the ESPN The Magazine All American 3rd Team in 2010. A Physical Education teacher in the Mineola school district, Coach Pavels brings her expertise to Future Stars Multi-Sports program.

Stuart Love brings over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience to the program and will be an assistant director in the Future Stars Multi-Sport program for Summer 2013. Originally from Scotland, Stuart is currently a Physical Education teacher in the Bay Shore school district. Stuart holds a BSc in Sports Science & Coaching from The University of Edinburgh and an MA in Physical Education from Adelphi University.

 

Michael Galeotafiore returns for his 5th summer at Future Stars and will bring his experience and expertise to the Multi-Sports program once again. Michael is a certified Physical Education & Health Education teacher and is pursuing his MA at Adelphi. An active Baseball coach throughout the year, Michael was a multi-sport athlete at the high-school level.
