Future Stars is excited to offer Swimming as one of our sports-specific summer camp programs. Summer 2012 at SUNY Old Westbury will feature and offer eight weekly sessions.

The program is designed for boys and girls aged 7-16, and aims to foster and develop campers confidence and techniques in the water.
Swim camps follow a progressive curriculum, with campers grouped by ability level in accordance with Red Cross standards. Campers will be given the tools to systematically progress during a day balanced with technical work, training sessions, and dry land training. Our goal is to foster and pattern solid stroke fundamentals so that each camper may develop their individual potential. Certified coaches oversee a comprehensive program designed to build both confidence and competence in the water.
Training will cover Stroke Fundamentals, Technical Demonstrations, Stretching & Flexibility, Breathing Techniques, Starts & Turns, Lap Work, Kick Sets, Performance Analysis, Underwater Techniques, Race Strategy, Dry Land Training, Plyometrics, Swim Games, Relays & Races, and more!
SUNY College at Old Westbury is a wooded 604 acre campus centrally located on Long Island's picturesque North Shore.
Clark Athletic Center outdoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Jackie Robinson Baseball & Softball complex, 8 all weather Tennis courts, 6 hitting walls, 4 full-sized training fields, 4 Basketball courts, outdoor Volleyball courts, mini-tennis grass courts, and more!
Clark Athletic Center indoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Olympic sized heated pool,
3 full gymnasiums, 4 racquetball courts, Panther Pride video and recreation area, weight room, cardio gym, games room, newly renovated locker rooms, athletic training room, and more!
Campus Center facilities include air conditioned cafeteria, Maguire Theater, Recital Hall, classrooms, and more!
Additional Future Stars camp specials include The Big Kahuna Inflatable Waterslide, The Quad Soccer Inflatable Sports Arena, The Future Stars Soccer Golf Course and GaGa Ball Pit!!!
Door to door transportation is available throughout Nassau County and beyond by arrangement.
Returning Future Stars Swim Director Julia Gould has over 7 years of USS coaching experience. She is currently a coach for the Connetquot Swim Club. Julia swam for a total of 16 years as a club swimmer, 12 as a club swimmer and 4 years at the collegiate level. During high school she was an all county swimmer and swam in many prestigious meets. After high school Julia went to St. Josephs College where she was a team captain and held 7 team records. Julia has a bachelor’s degree in child study (general and special elementary education) and speech communications from St. Josephs College and masters degree in literacy from Long Island University. Currently, she is a teacher in the Central Islip School District. Currently she is a Kindergarten teacher during the school year. She is a certified USS swim coach and Water Safety Instructor and is certified in lifeguard training, CPR and AED. Julia is excited to return and continue her work with the swimmers, parents and other coaches.
John McGeary returns in 2012 for the 4th year to Future Stars Swim camp, and is a certified Water Safety Instructor also. John brings years of swim experience and working with children in aquatics, from his coaching tenure with Mid Island YMCA and Roslyn JCC. John is excited to return and work once again with Future Stars Swim Campers.
