Little Stars Camp at Farmingdale

Future Stars is pleased to offer Little Stars as a specialty summer camp for young children.

Summer 2012 at Farmingdale State College will offer eight weekly sessions. The program runs from 9:00am-2:00pm although an extended day program to 4:00pm is available.

The Little Stars program is designed specifically for children aged 4-6 looking to meet the diverse needs of these campers.

Little Stars is a gentle blend of sports instruction, arts & crafts, recreational games, music, and tenderness. Director's and staff are education professionals with vast experience working with children of pre-school and elementary school age. Additional coaches from Future Stars sport specific camps complement the staff throughout the week dependent upon the scheduled activities.

Field Sports
Our daily sports program introduces campers to an action packed line-up of sports and games. Each period includes age-appropriate instructional skills and recreational activities. Campers are introduced to Soccer, Basketball, T-ball, Flag Football, Lacrosse, and more!Little Stars

Arts & Crafts
Campers will experience a variety of creative projects, including
paint, clay, plaster of paris, papier mache, jewelry, T-shirts, kites,
and masks.

Music
Music and songs will be an integral part of the camp experience.

Weekly Specials
Carnivals, treasure hunts, scientific surprises, petting zoos, nature discoveries, bouncing castles, and more will be enjoyed every week!

Facilities:

BaseballFarmingdale State is located on 380 lush acres in the heart of Long Island.  It is easily accessible from the Northern State, Southern State and LIE as well as most North and South shore locations along the Nassau Suffolk border.

The outdoor facilities at the college include 8 all-weather Tennis courts, a 20 station Golf driving range, as many as 8 Lacrosse/Soccer fields, Softball field, state of the art Baseball complex, brand new turf field, 1/4 mile track, hitting wall and numerous shaded recreation areas.

The indoor physical education and athletic facility named George E. Nold Hall encompasses 94,000 square ft.  The main gymnasium consists of three regulation Basketball courts, five Volleyball courts, four Tennis courts, indoor track and seating capacity of 4,000. The facility also includes 4 Racquetball and 4 Squash courts, Golf simulator, large weight training complex, modern state of the art training room, men’s and women’s locker rooms, showers and lavatories.

DIRECTOR:

Lori Lizzo is returning in 2011 for her 6th year as Director of the Little Stars Camp at Farmingdale State College. She has previously been the Director of Little Stars at our SUNY Old Westbury site for the past 5 years.

Lori is a Universal Pre-Kindergarten teacher in the Half Hollow Hills School District. She earned her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Farmingdale, Bachelors from Dowling College, as well as her Master's in Early Childhood Education from C.W. Post.

"The goal is to provide campers with a fulfilled day of activities. The Little Stars curriculum is designed around weekly themes and has proven to be very enjoyable for those who have attended in the past."
