Farmingdale Field Hockey Camp

Future Stars is delighted to offer Field Hockey as one of our sports-specific summer camp programs.

Summer 2010 at Farmingdale State College will feature and offer two weekly sessions.

The program is designed to give players aged 10-16 the opportunity to acquire the skills to develop and reach their full potential in the game.

Future Stars Field Hockey Camp focuses on all aspects of the game and works with campers of every skill level. We teach individual skills, team skills, tactics and strategies with the use of diversified drills, fun activities, circuits and team play. Athletes will learn everything from the importance of team building and warm ups to goal scoring, passing, receiving, tackling and possession/elimination. Camps are open to girls ages 10 through 16 and are perfect for school teams, small groups and individuals.

Facilities:

LacrosseFarmingdale State College is located on 380 lush acres in the heart of Long Island.  It is easily accessible from the Northern State, Southern State and LIE as well as most North and South shore locations along the Nassau Suffolk border.

The outdoor facilities at the college include 6 NEW all-weather Tennis courts, a 20 station Golf driving range, as many as 8 Lacrosse/Soccer fields, Softball field, state of the art Baseball complex, NEW turf field, 1/4 mile track, hitting wall and numerous shaded recreation areas.

The indoor physical education and athletic facility named George E. Nold Hall encompasses 94,000 square ft.  The main gymnasium consists of 3 regulation Basketball courts, 5 Volleyball courts, 4 Tennis courts, indoor track and seating capacity of 4,000. The facility also includes an indoor Swimming pool,  4 Racquetball and 4 Squash courts, Golf simulator, large weight training complex, modern state of the art training room, men’s and women’s locker rooms, showers and lavatories.

CW Post Pioneers Women's Field Hockey Head Coach Raenee Savin will direct and oversee all aspects of Future Stars Field Hockey program. Coach Savin became the 10th head coach in C.W. Post field hockey history in November 2002, after serving for four seasons as Jessica Hammer's top assistant.

During Savin's tenure as a Pioneer assistant, the team put together three consecutive winning seasons from 2000-02, including appearances in the postseason ECAC Tournament in 2001 and 2002.

A versatile athlete during her four years at C.W. Post, Savin played for four seasons with the Pioneer field hockey squad, seeing action for virtually every moment of her collegiate career.

Savin graduated from C.W. Post with a degree in Physical Education in May 1999 and completed her master's degree in Special Education in 2004.
