Future Stars is delighted to offer Football as one of our specialty sports-specific summer camp programs.
Summer 2010 at Farmingdale State College will feature and offer one weekly session.
The football program is designed to create an atmosphere that encourages all players, ages 8-17, to expand their skills and reach their full potential. Throughout the week campers will refine existing skills, learn new skills, and work on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
*** Note - Campers are required to provide their own Football equipment. ***

All campers will be divided by age, weight and ability. Contact will be introduced using a progressive methodology that focuses on technical proficiency. Every day and throughout the week players will be taught to enhance their skills, improve their speed, strength, and agility, and to play their position with proficiency. The coaching staff combines Super Bowl champions, Pro Bowl players, College, High School, and Pop Warner coaches all of whom have worked together for many years at one of the countries top camps.
Players will have ample opportunity to focus on individual position play. Offensive specialty work will focus on quarterback, running back, center, line, tight ends, and wide receivers. Groups will break out each day to practice proven techniques designed to improve play under game conditions. Defensive lineman, linebackers, and secondary will highlight assignments, coverage, run stop, pass rush, zone and man to man Defense. Special teams play, placekicking, punting, down field coverage, kick off and receiving will also be highlighted.
Farmingdale State College is located on 380 lush acres in the heart of Long Island. It is easily accessible from the Northern State, Southern State and LIE as well as most North and South shore locations along the Nassau Suffolk border.

The outdoor facilities at the college include 6 NEW all-weather Tennis courts, a 20 station Golf driving range, as many as 8 Lacrosse/Soccer fields, Softball field, state of the art Baseball complex, NEW turf field, 1/4 mile track, hitting wall and numerous shaded recreation areas.
The indoor physical education and athletic facility named George E. Nold Hall encompasses 94,000 square ft. The main gymnasium consists of 3 regulation Basketball courts, 5 Volleyball courts, 4 Tennis courts, indoor track and seating capacity of 4,000. The facility also includes an indoor Swimming pool, 4 Racquetball and 4 Squash courts, Golf simulator, large weight training complex, modern state of the art training room, men’s and women’s locker rooms, showers and lavatories.
Executive Director John Schneider will organize the curriculum, staff, daily activities and guest speakers which will include John Dockery who has partnered with Joe Namath and operated one of the most successful football camps in the Tri State area for 38 years. He graduated Harvard, won a Super bowl with the Jets, played 4 positions professionally and remains passionate about mentoring young players to learn the proper techniques for advancing their game.
Also on board are Super Bowl champion & 7 time pro bowl NY Jet, Winston Hill and legendary NJ high School coaches Bill and Billy Fitzgerald from Dumont HS and St. Peter’s Prep.
