Soccer Camp at Southampton

Future Stars is thrilled to offer Soccer as one of our core sports-specific summer camp programs. Summer 2012 at the Southampton Town Recreation Center will offer four
weekly sessions.

Ages 6-14 Boys & Girls July 2 - July 27

The Soccer program is designed to create an atmosphere that encourages and develops players aged 6-14 to reach their full potential.

Throughout the week campers will cover all facets of the game including technical, tactical, physical and psychological concepts. The training methods will aim to foster the players love for the game using a progressive curriculum building from individual skills through small-sided challenges and ending in match conditions. Director and coaches are experienced and qualified individuals who work with various Long Island Soccer clubs on a year-round basis in addition to their school soccer and ODP commitments.

Soccer Future Stars Method
Practices will cover Dribbling & 1st Touch, Short & Long Passing Techniques, Shooting & Finishing, Attacking Principles, Defensive Roles, Possession, Game Understanding & Movement Off The Ball, Goalkeeping, and more! Daily skills contests may include Speed Dribbling, 1v1 Ladder, Shooting Challenge, Juggling Contest, Goalkeeper Drills, and more! Team-work and Sportsmanship are emphasized.

Goalkeeping
Goalkeeping sessions will be offered for those campers who wish to focus on the technical and tactical elements of goalkeeping. Coaches will conduct training drills and exercises which are designed to improve footwork, handling, shot stopping, kicking, distribution, angles and positioning. Goalkeepers will utilize their training daily in game situations

Soccer Team Training Discounts
Future Stars Soccer Camp is an ideal pre-season opportunity for teams as they gear up for the new soccer season. Teams will be trained as a dedicated group with an assigned coach and the team coach can request a team evaluation at the end of camp. Call for information on team discount packages.

Facilities:

SoccerSYS opened up its doors to the 55,000 square foot facility in June 2003 with the name Southampton Town Recreation Center. The facility is a world-class athletic facility featuring world-class equipment and world-class services and the facility is one of the top sports and recreation facility in the United States.
During the year a broad array of activities has flourished within the Center and since the Summer of 2004, Future Stars has been providing the Summer Camp programs.    

SYS outdoor facilities include several playing fields, Baseball diamonds and swimming pool.

SYS indoor facilities include  Center Rink (90 x 135 sq. ft.)    Basketball  (lined for college play  94x50 ) , Soccer , Lacrosse, Roller Hockey, Tennis etc. The center rink has batter boards and netting for safe uninterrupted play. Elmaleh Stanton Squash Center -4 Singles Courts and 1 Doubles Courts. Blue Court & Red Court (84x 50 sq. ft.) -Basketball (lined for high school play) Volleyball and Recreational games. Cages Room  - 2 batting cages: baseball/softball Elevated Track - 1/7 of a mile. "A" Green Room (1,600 sq ft.) - multi purpose room. "B" Red Room (600 Sq ft.) - multi purpose room. Aerobics Room (800 sq. ft.) Men's and Women's Locker Rooms - showers, bathrooms and lockers.

DIRECTOR:

Andreas Lindberg returns for his second year as the site director for the Hamptons and will again help oversee the Soccer program at Southampton Recreation Center. Andreas has an extensive background in Sports and earned his bachelors Degree in Sports Management and his MBA in Executive Management from LIU. Andreas spent 3 years as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Southampton College and 5 years as Event Director for numerous multi-sport events on Long Island. Currently, Andreas is the head Coach for the USSF Met Oval Soccer Academy in Brooklyn, NY and the Director of Coaching for Southampton Soccer Club.
