The Circus Arts Camp at Purchase College is a unique and challenging learning experience. Circus and performance skills are taught by professional educators in an energetic team-oriented atmosphere. The camp culminates in an unforgettable live circus show.

Comfortable clothing or leotards is suggested. Sneakers are required for unicycling and other camp activities. Socks, ballet or acrobatic shoes are required for wire walking. Bathing suit, swim cap and towel for swim session.

Alisan Funk: Alisan Funk is from Keene New Hampshire. She has spent most of her life as a dancer and choreographer. She began her circus career while she was completing her studies at Barnard College in NY. Her training led her to the San Francisco Circus Center, and then to L’École de Cirque de Québec, where she specialized in Aerials, Juggling and contortion. She has been teaching youth circus for many years, most notably working for Circus Smirkus summer camp and as a coach for the Big top Tour. She coaches at the New England Center for Circus Arts in Brattleboro Vermont and provides workshops for youth and adults in the US and Canada.
Jesse Dryden: Jesse brings over twenty years of working with youth and circus. He is the first Canadian graduate of Ringling Bros.and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. He joined the Big show only to discover a horrible allergy to tigers. So since he has been performing and coaching around the world, (discovering all kinds of allergies). His performance credits include Cirqueworks’ Birdhouse Factory and Cirque du Soleil. Jesse held the post of Head coach at the International Circus Smirkus Camp for eight years; designing, directing and coaching their programs. For the past three years he has been the Creative director for Smirkus Big top tour and continues to coach with the outreach program Cirque du Monde.
We have opportunities in our new Counselor-In-Training Program, a great way for more experienced campers to become involved in Circus Camp at a different level.
