Peter Schwartz, sports anchor, shared his thoughts on USA Football's blog on what kind of dad he wants to be for his kids when they are on the field. Peter's son made a comment about a dad with famous athletic sons that got him thinking about his own behavior when he watches his children play.  Peter shares his own misgivings about behavior that he's not proud about and also contributes some suggestions on how to be involved with supporting your children and not crossing the line.

Inspirational Basketball shares a blog by Jason of Workout HQ that discusses the importance of speed in basketball.  Here are a few reasons why you should include speed drills in your basketball workout:

Think Fun shares a review on games that teach your children skills that they will use and need in the 21st century.  One such skill is learning to be a systems thinker, Waters Foundation says  "The Habits of a Systems Thinker describe ways of thinking about how systems work and how actions taken can impact results seen over time.  They encompass a spectrum of thinking strategies that foster problem-solving and encourage questioning.  Though “habit” is defined as a usual way of doing things, the Habits of a Systems Thinker do not suggest that systems thinkers are limited by routine ways of thinking.  Rather, the Habits encourage flexible thinking and appreciation of new, emerging insights and multiple perspectives."

Even though this blog was written in 2016, these suggested resolutions do stand the test of time.  Student athletes have a lot on their plates filling out their collegiate applications and ensuring that they stay on top of their college roster openings and scholarship opportunities.  New Year resolutions are often based on great goals but often fall short of expectations, perhaps the problems lies in that they are not as "user-friendly" as they should be.  Here are some suggestions to make your resolutions attainable:
