Covid Update - The safety of our campers, staff, and families remains the top priority as we move forward. Updated protocols and procedures will be posted and communicated to ensure we can continue to offer a healthy and safe environment for all Future Stars programs.

Future Stars OFFSITE SOCCER Camp in partnership with the Plainedge Soccer Club, takes place at their Field Complex conveniently located in Bethpage, just off Hempstead Turnpike (Rt.24) by the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway (Rt.135).
The program was put together - in summer 2020 - to offer a modified half day schedule following NYS and CDC Guidelines for 'Day Camps' and 'Youth Sports - Return to Play'.
Health and Safety protocols are/were in place to provide a safe and welcoming environment, whilst encouraging players to develop to their full potential.
The program features technical and tactical soccer training, as well as incorporating additional speed and agility activities, recreational games, and fun challenges.

OFFSITE SOCCER Coaching Staff;
We take great pride in our staff. All programs are overseen by directors who are qualified and experienced adult professionals in their field and are passionate about working with children. Assistant coaches, teachers, instructors and student athletes ensure an outstanding team of staff members for our campers. Together, our staff strive to ensure a safe and welcoming environment to help our campers build skills, character, and friendships.

Future Stars site director David Stapleton is also the Director of Coaching for Plainedge Soccer Club.

 

 

 

LEADERSHIP

At Future Stars, we take pride in our staff and feel it sets us apart from many others in the camp industry. Our Leadership team brings vast experience, both in terms of working with children and in terms of summer camp administration and working with parents and families. Our programs are staffed by Coaches, Teachers, Instructors, and Student Athletes who share a passion for working with children and have experience and know-how in their respective fields.

Camp Director

David Stapleton is the site director for all programs at The College at Old Westbury. David graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and brings over 20 years of experience in summer camps, coaching, and youth sports. David is a full-time employee of Future Stars Summer Camps, and proud father of his son and daughter.

Assistant Camp Director


Chris Rasidakis is the assistant site director and CTAP director at The College at Old Westbury. Chris is a certified teacher and brings over 20 years of experience in summer camps, coaching, and youth sports. Chris is a full-time teacher in NYCDOE, proud father of his two sons, and Future Stars are lucky to have his experience and energy on our team.

Office Administrators


Kerri Stapleton is one member of the hidden backbone of our camp operations during the summer. Kerri is a certified teacher and brings many years of teaching experience and working with children to the Future Stars team.

Medical Director


Zsolt Hajdu is the on-site Medical Director for FSCamps at The College at Old Westbury. Zsolt is the Head of Sports Medicine for The College at Old Westbury Athletics Dept, and is a certified Athletic Trainer, and EMT. Zsolt brings over 20 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer and working with summer camps to Future Stars and helps ensure a safe and caring camp environment for all campers.

Additional Future Stars staff also hold First Aid, RTE, CPR, and Epi-Pen certifications, and or on-site during camp hours every day during the summer to help take care of our campers.

FACILITIES

The College at Old Westbury is a wooded 600-acre campus centrally located in Long Island’s Gold Coast in Nassau County. Conveniently located on Rt.107, minutes from the LIE (Rt.495), Jericho Turnpike (Rt.25), and Northern Boulevard (Rt.25A).

The College at Old Westbury athletics dept sponsors 13 NCAA Division III intercollegiate teams participating in the Skyline Conference, FSCamps utilize the college athletics facilities, and additional campus facilities for all programs.

Future Stars are the only summer camp program on campus during the summer with exclusive use of the following facilities;

Clark Athletic Center OUTDOOR facilities include; Baseball & Softball Complex, Full-Sized Grass Training Fields, Tennis Courts, Hitting Walls, Basketball Courts, and more.

Clark Athletic Center INDOOR facilities include; Multiple Gymnasiums, Swimming Pool, Racquetball Courts, Panther Pride Recreation Area, and more.

Additional campus facilities include; Air-Conditioned Cafeteria, Recital Hall, Old Westbury TV Studio, Classrooms, Computer Labs, and more.

Additional camp features include; Inflatable Waterslides & Slip’n’Slides , GaGa Ball Pits, Inflatable Sports Arena, Soccer Golf Course, Game Tent and more.

Horseability facilities for Horseback Riding Camp include; Three Outdoor Riding Arenas, 1 Indoor Riding Arena, Ample Paddock Space, Stables, Indoor Classroom, and more.

Using WAZE App, you can enter ‘SUNY Old Westbury Athletic Center’ into the search bar and follow directions thereafter.

When on campus, there are also signs for the ‘Clark Athletic Center’ and during the summer months there are Future Stars directional signs posted also.

There is a parking lot with ample parking located by the Clark Athletic Center for camp tours, and camper drop-off and pick-up during the camp season.

Lunch

As part of our all inclusive and comprehensive camp experience, Future Stars have typically served a nutritious and well-balanced daily lunch.
Chartwells are the food service provider year-round for The College at Old Westbury, and have a full-time professional staff dedicated to culinary delights and food safety.
Future Stars and Chartwells are highly 'NUT AWARE', and we make sure any special food needs are carefully monitored and delivered.
Food Allergies, Dietary Needs, and Special Menu Options can all be addressed, and camp families are able to speak with Dining Services and Camp (Medical) Staff as required before and during the summer.

Swim

Future Stars have had exclusive use of The College at Old Westbury pool during the summer camp season.

  • The pool is indoors and heated
  • The pool is maintained by The College at Old Westbury Athletics Department and has a Certified Pool Operator on-site throughout the summer.
  • The pool is inspected by NY state (Nassau County) Department of Health.

Campers attending the following Future Stars programs receive Instructional Swim;

Rising Stars, All Stars, and Swim Camp

Campers attending all other Future Stars programs have a Daily Recreational Swim period. This is typically 45 minutes of pool time with assigned time before/after for changing in the locker rooms.
*Note this is not a mandatory swim…campers who do not wish to swim can do other supervised activities.*

Future Stars Aquatics staff are on-site throughout the camp season and are certified Nassau County Dept of Health Lifeguards, American Red Cross First Aid & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Water Safety Instructors. Our aquatics director oversees all aspects of the pool and camper safety is a primary concern. All campers who wish to swim take a “swim test”, participate in regular “buddy checks”, and are presented with pool rules and procedures on a weekly basis.

 

Transportation

Future Stars have typically partnered with a leading transportation company on Long Island, to offer the highest level of safety and service for camp families who would like to add the optional bus transportation.

Door-to-Door bus service has typically been available to surrounding Nassau County Communities (Zip Codes) for an additional weekly fee.
You can contact the camp office to make sure transportation is available to your neighborhood.

All vehicles used for Future Stars are air-conditioned and are the ‘smaller’ school buses with seat belts available for all passengers.
All drivers are qualified and experienced professional, exceeding all requirements pursuant to NY State Law and Guidelines.
Please be aware, as Future Stars summer sessions are weekly, the enrollment does change week-to-week, therefore bus routes also change week-to-week.
Transportation must be added NO later than Ten (10) days prior to the start of a camp session.
Registered families who add the transportation option, will receive additional details prior to the summer.
Summer 2021 Transportation Updates will be posted when available.
