We are committed to the safety of our staff and our campers, and due to COVID-19, Volleyball Camp will not be offered during Summer 2020. Volleyball Camp will return in Summer 2021. Please check out our other exciting 2020 camp offerings and join us this summer for some fun!

The Future Stars Volleyball Camp is designed for all levels to develop their skills, ages 5-16. Our goal is to help campers to improve their existing skills and aid in developing and fine-tuning the things that they haven’t yet mastered, whether they’ve been playing the sport for years or they’re just starting out. Our program offers the perfect opportunity to hone in on the skills and concepts necessary to excel in volleyball ahead of the school season. Focusing on outdoor volleyball drills as well as off-court activities, our experienced and passionate coaches will help your camper master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics, and gain game play experience. The curriculum focuses on all facets of the game and offers personal and small group instruction throughout the week to prepare for the game environment. Campers will have the opportunity to create friendships and well as a respect and admiration for the sport.

Director Duiness Deeney
Duiness was born and raised in Scotland and is currently attending the University of Dundee, where he studies Fine Arts. Having never played volleyball until his second year of undergrad, Duiness made it to the first-tier team with three months of training. The same year, his team had an undefeated season.

During Duiness’s second and third years in school, he helped his team to win the Scottish Conference Cup. While in his fourth year, he was president of his university team, running training for a variety of levels from beginners to some of the best players in the country. In his final year, his team remains undefeated.

Alongside Duiness is the assistant director Phyllis Sabattis, who played on Maine’s Junior Olympic team. Both experienced players look to help and support campers into being the best volleyball players that they can be.

Transportation

**Due to programming changes as a result of COVID-19, transportation will not be offered during Summer 2020.**

Future Stars Southampton offers door-to-door transportation from Westhampton to Southampton village, excluding Dune Road and Meadow Lane. Anyone living east of Southampton village will be picked up at the Bridgehampton Starbucks on Montauk Highway.

To register for the bus service, a parent or guardian must register their camper at least one week in advance. So, if you need bus service for the week of June 8, registration must be complete and submitted to the office by Monday, June 1 no later than 9:00 AM.

We cannot register a camper for the bus after the deadline and late registrations will not be accepted. If a registration is submitted late, we cannot offer transportation for your camper. There will not be any exceptions made to late registrations.

Any changes made to the transportation schedule must be relayed to the main office via email. For example, if your camper is being picked up instead of taking the bus, if they are only taking the bus for select days, if they are only taking the bus one way, et cetera, the office must be notified directly. Please do not rely on third parties separate from the office staff to relay this important information appropriately and accurately. This includes counselors.

Transportation runs twice daily: once for 9:00 AM drop-off, and once for 4:00 PM pick-up. If a camper is in Little Stars, the camper will need to stay for the extended day program until 4:00 PM as there is not a bus available for the 2:00 PM dismissal. There is an additional charge for the extended day program. Please see the registration form for details.

Tiny Stars campers are too young for the bus service. Parents and guardians should arrange for proper drop-off and pick-up of Tiny Stars participants.

The cost of transportation is $170 per week, per camper. This price is non-negotiable. If a camper is not using the bus service for the whole week, they will not be prorated. There is not a sibling/household discount available for the bus service.

The bus routes are made on a weekly basis. Because parents can register their campers up to one week in advance, the office will not have an accurate pick-up or drop-off time for your stop until the week before you are using the bus service.

If your camper is enrolled for camp and transportation for multiple weeks out of the summer, please do not assume that the pick-up time will be the same every week. Our office will alert parents and guardians of their scheduled pick-up time no later than the Thursday before the start date of the camp week. So, if your camper is attending camp for the week of Monday, June 8, you can expect an email on Thursday, June 4.

Character

Safety is first for a reason. Ingrained in everything we do, safety paves the way for our campers to thrive in a healthy environment.
Teamwork challenges our campers to collaborate thoughtfully and teaches us that, “we are not on a team because we work together, we are on a team because we respect, trust, and care for one another.”
Attitude is everything, our coaches discuss both the good and the bad of attitudes; guiding campers to consider the power of an open and growth-oriented mind.
Responsibility fosters a supportive and thriving community, which takes effort from every single member. We encourage every camper to take ownership of their actions, just as they do their belongings.
Sportsmanship is more than just a handshake at the end of a game. We encourage our campers to honor differences and celebrate similarities of everyone in our community, all the while playing hard and playing fair.

What does it mean to be a Future Star?

Our STARS acronym tells the story to our campers and parents of what it means to be a part of the Future Stars Southampton family. We aim to help our campers understand the value and interconnectedness of Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To continue to do our utmost in promoting your campers’ growth, we utilize this succinct values model for campers to learn from and apply in any program they may attend. Each day, our coaches reinforce this well-rounded development in which values pave the way to fun and effective activities; providing campers innumerable opportunities to think creatively about the type of community member they are and wish to be. Whether on the baseball field, in a chess match, or on a paddle board, we strive to equip every camper with the tools to be a Future Star for any team they may be a part of!
