PURCHASE, NEW YORK – MAY 20, 2026 – Future Stars Summer Camps, an ACA-accredited New York-based summer day camp organization serving more than 1,500 families annually for over 45 years, announced today it won two categories in the 2026 Long Island Choice Awards: Best Day Camp and Best Sports Camp. The community-voted program is presented by the Herald, and winners were celebrated at a gala on May 19, 2026, at

The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York.

Now in its fifth year, the Long Island Choice Awards is a people’s choice program that recognizes standout businesses and organizations across Long Island. Winners are decided by public nomination and voting, which ran from January 22 to February 22, 2026. Future Stars was nominated in two categories and won both, earning a direct endorsement from the Long Island families it serves.

“These awards come straight from the families and the Long Island community we show up for every summer,” says COO and Future Stars Director Jordan Snider, who has been with the Future Stars organization for 35 years. “Winning Best Day Camp and Best Sports Camp in the same year tells us we’re getting the most important things right.”

The recognition reflects what families experience across Future Stars’ campuses. Future Stars is an ACA-accredited camp organization, meeting the rigorous national standards set by the American Camp Association in collaboration with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other leading youth-serving agencies. The camp maintains an 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio, staffs its programs with certified teachers and licensed coaches, and reports a 70% annual camper return rate and a 96% parent recommendation rate. Its S.T.A.R.S. values — Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship — are built into every program day, alongside skill sessions, scrimmages, and free play.

Future Stars runs day camps at Long Island locations including SUNY Old Westbury, Nassau Community College in Garden City, Farmingdale State College, and Suffolk County Community College’s Grant Campus in Brentwood. Additional sites operate in Patchogue, Sayville, and across the Hamptons (Southampton, Westhampton & Riverhead). Campers can choose from 35+ expert-led programs in sports, arts, academics, and STEAM for ages 2 to 18, with flexible week-by-week enrollment.

“Winning means a lot, but what it really does is remind us who we’re here for,” Snider adds. “We want to thank every Long Island family who voted for us, and we’re focused on giving their kids the best summer yet in 2026.”
