Future Stars' typical camp day comes in many lengths and styles.
The core camp day runs during daytime hours. For added flexibility, an extended day program is available, offering supervised activities both before and after regular camp hours.
In almost every case, there is one staff member for every 4 to 8 campers.
Low staff to camper ratios ensure personalized attention and a supportive environment for your child. Specific ratios vary by program and age group to maximize engagement and safety.
Requests for changes to a camper's schedule can be made by contacting the Future Stars Purchase office directly via phone or email. We'll work to accommodate all requests, though changes are subject to availability.
Campers are grouped by age, skill level, and social needs to ensure a thriving and comfortable summer. We prioritize friend requests and offer a flexible approach to placement, ensuring each child finds the right fit and makes new friends.
Future Stars ensures a smooth and secure process for arrival and departure. There's a designated morning drop-off window (typically 8:45-9:00 AM) and afternoon pick-up (3:45-4:00 PM), with staff on hand for supervision and assistance. Early drop-off and late pick-up options are available for a fee.
For families in eligible areas, door-to-door transportation with a camp counselor on board is offered. Exact bus times are communicated weekly.
Every camper needs daily essentials, such as sunscreen, a healthy snack, lunch, a water bottle, bathing suit and towel, appropriate footwear, and, depending on the weather, rain gear.
For program-specific equipment, such as cleats for soccer or a glove for softball, an information packet and email will detail exactly what your camper needs. Future Stars has some extra equipment available if items are forgotten.
At the SUNY Purchase College location, campers should pack their own lunch daily, and bring a morning snack. Please use an insulated lunch bag, as campers keep their lunches with their group throughout the day.
An afternoon snack is provided. If your child tends to get extra hungry, they are welcome to bring additional snacks from home. In case lunch or a snack is forgotten, staff will contact you.
For severe allergies or dietary restrictions, communicate needs to the camp prior to arrival. While Future Stars is "nut conscious" rather than "nut-free," clear protocols are in place, and staff are trained to manage allergic reactions.
Future Stars Camps operate rain or shine! If rain or thunderstorms occur, SUNY Purchase College has indoor facilities so campers can continue building their skills and having fun until the weather clears.
