Finding the right summer camp comes with lots of questions. At Future Stars, we’ve spent over 45 years making sure families feel confident and supported every step of the way.
Here, you’ll find clear answers about safety, scheduling, programs, and more—so you can feel at ease and focus on giving your child a summer they’ll never forget. Because when parents have peace of mind, kids thrive.
We’ve gathered the most common questions parents ask—so you can feel confident, informed, and ready for camp.
Campers are grouped by age and skill level, with extra attention to social needs so every child feels comfortable and included. Friend requests are honored whenever possible, and directors work hard to create a positive fit for each camper
When friends are close in age and skill level, it’s usually possible to keep them together. Campers are placed with careful consideration of both age and ability, so that every child feels safe, supported, and appropriately challenged.
If there’s a bigger skill gap, they may follow the same schedule, but join separate skill groups during certain activities, reuniting throughout the day during transitions, swimming, or lunch.
Most programs are designed for children from age 2 through age 18, though the exact age range varies by location and camp type. Some sites offer options for younger children, while others may extend programming for older teens.
Check with your local Future Stars location to confirm the specific age groups available.
Campers can expect a well-structured day that balances skill development with recreation and social time. While schedules vary by program and location, a typical day often includes:
This balance of structure and variety ensures kids leave camp both tired (in the best way) and excited to return the next day.
Campers stay comfortable no matter the weather.
On rainy days, programs move into indoor facilities with engaging activities until conditions clear. If extreme heat is expected, staff shorten activity periods, add extra water breaks, and use shaded or air-conditioned spaces to ensure safety.
Allergies and dietary needs are managed with clear communication, nut-conscious practices, and trained staff always prepared to keep campers safe.
Drop-off and pick-up times vary by location and program. Each site provides exact details on its web page, and staff are always present to supervise arrivals and dismissals.
Many locations also offer early drop-off and late pick-up for an additional weekly fee. At select campuses, families may use door-to-door or central bus service. Transportation should be booked at least two weeks before your session begins.
Every Monday is treated like the start of a new session, with icebreakers and group activities designed to help your child meet other campers and settle in.
Coaches are trained to support shy children or children who feel anxious or unsure, and pay close attention to make sure everyone feels welcomed.
Future Stars differentiates instruction so every athlete is challenged at their level. Advanced players may “play up” with older groups, train directly with coaches, or spend more time in high-level drills.
Staff are experienced at tailoring sessions, so competitive athletes continue to improve while still enjoying the variety and camaraderie of camp. When helpful, coaches can also communicate with a camper’s private trainer to support their development.
Future Stars staff are adults and professional educators, not just seasonal high school or college hires. Site Directors and Program Directors are experienced leaders in their fields, and many of our coaches teach or coach year-round.
Assistant Coaches often include college athletes who bring fresh energy while working under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
Safety is the top priority at Future Stars. All staff undergo background checks, pre-season training, and ongoing supervision to ensure that campers are cared for by experienced professionals.
Emergency protocols are in place at every site, and staff are trained in CPR, First Aid, and child supervision best practices. Sunscreen and hydration breaks are built into the day.
Camp days are designed to balance focused instruction with plenty of breaks, water time, and opportunities to rest.
Coaches adjust intensity based on age, experience, and group needs—so younger campers or beginners aren’t overwhelmed, and older or more advanced athletes stay challenged.
All cancellations made before February 1 are fully refundable. Prior to April 1st, cancellations are refundable minus $150 administrative fee. After April 1st, 2025, all balances will be charged in full, and cancellations are non-refundable.
However, families may request changes to program or session dates, which are permitted when space is available.
Future Stars maintains low camper-to-staff ratios to ensure personal attention and a safe, supportive environment. Groups are typically one staff member for every 4 to 8 campers, depending on program and age level.
Future Stars coaches use structured lesson plans that build skills week to week, while keeping activities varied and engaging. The schedule is designed to provide enough consistency for growth, while introducing fresh drills, games, and challenges so kids stay motivated and enjoy themselves.

Most programs wrap up the week with some form of recap or celebration. Sports camps often hold end-of-week awards or highlight activities, while specialty programs like drama or dance may include performances that parents are invited to attend.
Photos vary by location. While recap emails aren’t always sent, weekly photos are regularly shared on the Future Stars Instagram page. Each location has its own social media channel, so be sure to follow along to see camp highlights.

Before camp begins, families receive information packets and updates from their location with schedules, packing lists, and any site-specific details. This ensures parents feel fully prepared and know what to expect on day one.

If there’s space available in another program or session, we’ll do our best to accommodate a switch so your child stays comfortable and excited about camp.
Future Stars has zero tolerance for bullying. Staff are trained to model positive behavior, address concerns immediately, and use proven behavior management techniques to create a safe and inclusive environment for all campers.
Participation is encouraged, but campers are never forced. If a child isn’t comfortable with swimming or a specific activity, staff offer gentle encouragement and alternative options so they remain engaged and supported.
