Adventure Summer Camp

Future Stars Adventure Camp is an exciting program, incorporating both on-campus, and off-campus activities. The program is modeled on the popular Adventure Education programs that are being featured more frequently in school curriculums across the country.

Adventure Camp aims to create a fun and positive small group experience that fosters leadership skills and encourages the campers to challenge themselves. The goal is to have the campers finish the program with a sense of accomplishment, self-confidence, and a stronger sense of themselves.

    Our Adventure Camp makes use of our on-campus facilities while on-site. Off-site facilities are determined by trip locations. 


Experienced Physical Education teachers direct and oversee the program with additional expertise offered from the on-site staff at the various trip locations. A limited enrollment will ensure plenty of active play and ‘adventure’ in this unique and rewarding program.

The start of each session will feature initial ice-breaker activities and staff presentations as to the goals and expectations of the group. Campers will get to know each other and the staff, participate in cooperative games and discuss the themes for the program (Communication/Respect for Differences/Problem Solving). By promoting positive working relationships, the staff will encourage leadership roles and apply strategy while working on ‘project adventure’ style initiatives. 

Summer 2022 Adventure Camp Trip Itinerary: 

  *All trip locations have their own rules/guidelines and have increased cleaning patterns to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.  We will continue to have discussions with the vendors up until our scheduled trip date, as rules/guidelines are subject to change.

Adventure Camp will be based at Suffolk Community College - Brentwood, with on-campus activities utilizing collegiate athletics facilities. Daily drop-off and pick-up will take place at the college, with off-campus trips utilizing Future Stars’ transportation provider.

Adventure Camp has a limited enrollment and is expected to sell out each year, so please register early to avoid disappointment.

$825 p/camper.   Price includes tuition, trip fees and trip transportation costs only.
LUNCH - Campers must bring their own packed lunch in an insulated lunch bag to take on daily adventures. We will provide an additional snack each day. *Please avoid foods with peanuts/tree nuts.

There are NO discounts applied to the Adventure Camp registration.
Registered Adventure Campers will be required to complete and submit Future Stars Camper Forms AND additional waivers for specific trip locations.

Registered Adventure Campers will receive all paperwork and detailed itinerary prior to the start of the program. 




Suffolk Community College, Brentwood is conveniently located off the LIE and Sagtikos Parkway. Campus entrances off Wicks Road and Crooked Hill Road are the best routes to our location on campus. Future Stars arrival and departure will take place near the athletic facilities and Suffolk Federal Credit Union Arena.

The Suffolk Federal Credit Union Arena is a 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility that contains a number of outstanding features for camp use including: 25-meter heated swimming pool with three and five-meter diving boards, 3 multipurpose courts for basketball, volleyball and a myriad of fun sports and recreational activities; six-lane, 200 meter track, general purpose room, state-of-the-art fitness center, men’s and women’s locker rooms and lavatories.

The nearly 20-acre outdoor field complex will be the focal point for many of our sport specific programs.  Facilities utilized include: grass soccer, lacrosse, softball and baseball fields, along with six new Deco Turf tennis courts. The track and field stadium includes a 400-meter, 8 lane, all-weather track, long jump pits, high jump and pole vault areas, along with a full grass interior field.  


John Mees – tenure w/ Future Stars – 14 years.
After serving as site-director of our Southampton location for 10 years, John decided to move closer to home and launch our St. Joseph’s site.  After growing St. Joe's into a successful location, John set his sites on Brentwood to do the same. John is passionate about education and summer camp. He believes that sports and academics have the potential to bring out the best (or worst) in each of us.  With that in mind, John designed and implemented the character-development curriculum inherent in all program offerings at St. Joe’s and will bring those same principles to Brentwood.

John has taught honors Spanish at Mount Sinai High School for the past 14 years. In addition to his classroom duties, John also coaches all three seasons comprising boys varsity golf, girls varsity basketball, and girls varsity golf. He has coached numerous league champions and all-state performers in golf, and helped lead the girls varsity basketball to Mt. Sinai's first Suffolk County title in 2017 and another in 2019.

John received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill and went on to earn master's degrees from both the University of Connecticut and Stony Brook University.
John lives in Sayville with his wife and son.

Who are your staff members?
Our staff comprises coaches, teachers, instructors and collegiate-student athletes who share a passion for working with children and have experience and know-how in their respective fields.

What are the ratios?
Typically, between 8-10:1. Exceptions are Tennis (6:1) and Rising Stars (4:1)

What happens during inclement weather?
Camp still runs as planned. If possible, we prefer to have our programs continue with their normal programming. However, if and when inclement weather mandates we go indoors, we have ample indoor space to utilize at main campus. Occasionally, the multi-sport program will take off-site trips on rainy days, such as bowling, air-trampoline, etc. 

What happens on really hot days?
Our experienced coaching staff will take additional water/shade breaks throughout the day. There are shaded areas and tents around the athletic fields where groups can rest between activities. Campers are able to cool-off by our misting fans or even take a quick run through the sprinklers that we turn on. Pool time and/or Water Park time would also be extended for that day, not to mention access to air-conditioned indoor space.

Can I switch sessions and/or programs?
Yes. You can do this anytime throughout the summer, pending availability. Our office must be notified on the Friday of the prior week so that we can staff accordingly. We cannot make changes after Monday. Please email with any changes.

Can I add sessions during the summer?
Yes. You can add sessions anytime, prior to the week you’re looking to enroll, pending availability. The price will be at our current 1-week rate and will not include any previous discounts, aside from our sibling discount.

Do you have a camp nurse?
We have EMT’s and certified athletic trainers. Please see our “Leadership” section for details.

Are programs Co-Ed?
Most programs are co-ed. Please see our individual program pages for details.

How are campers grouped?
For sport specific programs (soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.), campers are grouped by age and ability. For our popular multi-sport program, campers will be grouped mainly by age/grade.

Future Stars have use of the SCC Brentwood pool during the summer camp season.

  • The heated pool is located indoors at the Suffolk Federal Credit Union Arena.
  • The pool is maintained by SCC Athletics Department and has a Certified Pool Operator on-site throughout the summer.
  • The pool is inspected by NY state (Suffolk County) Department of Health.

Campers have a recreational swim every day for about 45 minutes. Rising Stars and youngest Multi-Sports campers will also receive instructional swim each day.

Pool safety is taken very seriously, and the pool staff is highly qualified and carry numerous accolades and certifications, including WSI, Lifeguard Management, Lifeguard, First-Aid, and CPR_AED for the Professional Rescuer. They are involved in the 'Learn to Swim' program throughout the year.
Every Monday, each new camper is swim tested to determine level and ability, with regular buddy checks taken by our pool staff.

In addition to the pool, we also host our 'Future Stars Water Park' with inflatable water slides for campers to enjoy.



Registered campers must bring their own lunch at the Brentwood site. Please pack lunch in a cooler type bag, as there is no refrigeration for lunches. 

There are plenty of drinking water fountains throughout campus, in addition to vending machines should your camper wish to purchase a drink during the day.

We are committed to being a 'nut-free' camp, so please make every effort to avoid packing foods that include nut products.

Tuition rates are time sensitive. Enrolling early affords families our best rates.  

Summer 2022 programs will run from June 27th to August 19th. We offer flexible weekly scheduling, and each camp week runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.  Early drop-off and late pick-up options are also available for an additional $65 p/week, p/option (7:30am drop-off & up-to 5:30pm pick-up).  Lunch is available for an additional $55 p/week or you can send campers with a packed lunch.  Sibling discounts of $25 p/week are added for each sibling after the first child. *Multi-Week Discount (3+ Weeks) is based on each child and is not cumulative per the family.

We are happy to set up monthly payment plans for families enrolling in 4+ weeks.
Payments will be automatically charged on pre-planned dates for pre-planned amounts, based on your total balance.
Balances can be split into as many as 6 monthly payments or as little as 2 monthly payments, depending on time of enrollment.
Balances must be paid in full by April 1st.



Helpful Enrollment Information: Enrolling early will ensure you receive our best rates.  Upon your initial enrollment, it is suggested to enroll for the most weeks you think your child(ren) will be attending, so you can take advantage of our lowest rates of the season.

You are not locked into your schedule at time of enrollment, and you can even reduce the number of enrolled weeks to as by April 1st, to as little as one week, without penalty, should other summer plans come about. 

Cancellation Policy: Full refunds are available through February 1st. Prior to April 1st, cancellations are refundable minus a $150 administrative fee.  After April 1st, there are NO refunds for cancellations. You do have the option of switching to another week, pending availability.  You are also able to switch weeks and programs, at no cost, anytime throughout the summer, pending availability. Our office must be notified of any changes on the Friday of the prior week.  We cannot make changes on Monday morning.  If you are planning to change weeks or programs, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can staff accordingly.
