EXPLORE THE COLORFUL WORLD OF CREATIVITY

Future Stars Draw & Paint Camp is designed to help children explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop both existing and new artistic skills. Campers will dive into the world of canvases, brushes and endless inspiration as they learn to express your imagination through art.

The week begins with a group meeting where campers get to know one another, share their interests, and settle into a welcoming creative community. Compositions will be completed using pencil, pen, colored pencil, markers, and/or watercolors. Artistic dreams come to life through the creation of unforgettable masterpieces.

Programs will take place in collegiate classrooms with all necessary equipment provided. Additional recreational games and swim supplement the daily curriculum to give campers a balanced day of creativity and fun.

Meet the Director

SUF_Carol Wilson

Carol Wilson

STEAM Education Director

Carol’s mission as an educator is to inspire her students each and every day to innovate and develop solutions to the challenges we face on a daily basis. To that end, Carol can’t wait to work with and have fun with our future scientists, engineers, coders and detectives this summer!

Carol is a distinguished educator of nearly thirty years. She has performed a variety of roles in the East Islip School District as a teacher of 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. Most recently, Carol helped the East Islip School District to pioneer their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) program, where she teaches students in grades 3-5 to create, design, and communicate in teams to solve everyday problems.

Carol holds an M.A. in Reading and Special Education from Dowling College, as well as a B.A. in Elementary Education and Spanish from Clemson University. She also holds an SBL degree in administration and is currently a supervisor of student teachers at St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue.

Carol was the head varsity volleyball coach at East Islip between 1994-2001, leading the Redmen to multiple Section XI playoff appearances, with teams consisting of athletes who would go on to compete at the college level in NCAA Division I and III. She was also selected in 2012 as the faculty recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award for Timber Point Elementary School.

In her time away from school, Carol enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with her two sons.
