Future Stars Basketball Camp teaches campers to become well-rounded, team-oriented players. Campers receive specialized instruction focusing on dribbling, ball handling, passing, shooting, and rebounding.
Experienced high school and college coaches guide campers through small group instruction, close supervision, quality game play, and emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork. Campers are grouped by age and ability.

  • Dribbling – Build confident ball control with both hands, smooth direction changes, and solid protection from defenders
  • Shooting – Improve shooting form, accuracy, and consistency from various spots on the court
  • Free Throws – Develop a steady free-throw routine to stay calm, focused, and reliable at the line
  • Ball Handling – Strengthen overall control with drills that boost quick reactions and smooth movement with the ball
  • Footwork – Sharpen balance, pivots, and movement to create better scoring chances and stronger defense
  • Court Awareness – Learn to read the game, make smart decisions, and understand court positioning
  • Teamwork – Practice communicating, sharing the ball, and creating a positive team environment

Oregon Middle School is conveniently located in heart of the Patchogue-Medford School District in Suffolk County.

The school is easily accessible from Sunrise Highway and is just minutes from Route 112, a major north–south roadway connecting the South Shore to the Long Island Expressway.

Its central location makes it convenient for families throughout the Patchogue-Medford community and surrounding Suffolk County areas.

BASKETBALL CAMP DAILY SCHEDULE

9:00 am: Orientation / Warm-up

9:15 am: Instructional Stations/Fundamentals

10:15 am: Offense/Defense Drills

11:15 am: Half court / Full court Scrimmages

12:15 pm: Lunch

1:15 pm: Water Park Activities

2:15 pm: Situational Play/Skills Contests

3:00 pm: League Play

4:00 pm: Departure

The McNeelys

Basketball Director

Ryan Sr. and Ryan Jr. McNeely bring a powerful combination of experience, leadership, and passion to Future Stars Summer Camp in Patchogue. Ryan Sr., a longtime high school coach, recently led Mount Sinai High School to the New York State Championship game and was named Newsday’s Suffolk County Varsity Boys Basketball Coach of the Year for the 2024–25 season. A graduate of St. Joseph’s University, New York and a longtime School Counselor in the Middle Country Central School District, he has dedicated his career to mentoring students on and off the court.

Ryan Jr., also a graduate and former captain at St. Joseph’s University, New York, is a certified elementary school teacher and director of the Long Island Sound AAU program. A former Future Stars camper turned director, he understands firsthand the impact of the program. Together, the McNeelys are committed to developing confident, disciplined athletes while teaching life lessons that extend far beyond basketball.
