Old Westbury Drama Camp

Future Stars is happy to introduce Drama as one of our specialty summer camp programs.

Summer 2010 at SUNY Old Westbury will feature and offer three session's. Note each session is a two-week program as the campers perform an end of session show on camp.

The program is designed to give boys and girls aged 8-16 a unique insight into the world of Drama and theatre, with all campers receiving individual attention.

Ages 8-16 Boys & Girls July 5 - August 13

 

Campers will look at various performance skills, body language and voice training, improv and role playing, as well as other aspects 'behind the scenes' as they prepare for the end of session camp show. Director and teacher's are seasoned professionals with years of experience in performing arts and they are focused on guiding young talent to achieve their goals.

Facilities:

DramaSUNY College at Old Westbury is a wooded 604 acre campus centrally located on Long Island's picturesque North Shore.

Clark Athletic Center outdoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Jackie Robinson Baseball & Softball complex, 8 all weather Tennis courts, 6 hitting walls, 4 full-sized training fields, 4 Basketball courts, outdoor Volleyball courts, mini-tennis grass courts, and more!

 

Clark Athletic Center indoor facilities include FULL ACCESS to Olympic sized heated pool, 3 full gymnasiums, 4 racquetball courts, Panther Pride video and recreation area, weight room, cardio gym, games room, newly renovated locker rooms, athletic training room, and more!

Campus Center facilities include air conditioned cafeteria, Maguire Theater, Recital Hall, classrooms, and more!

Additional Future Stars camp specials include The Big Kahuna Inflatable Waterslide & The Quad Soccer Inflatable Sports Arena!!!

Door to door transportation is available throughout Nassau County and beyond by arrangement.

DIRECTORS BIO:

Drama Jonathan Gellert is very excited to be returning to Future Stars this summer! He is currently the Director of Theater Arts at Great Neck North High School in Great Neck NY. Before spending his summers at Future Stars, Jonathan spent 20 summers as Theater Director at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, a sleep away camp in upstate NY. He has an MFA in Theater Directing from UCLA,  an MA in Theater Education and a BFA in Acting/Directing. He has worked as a professional actor and director with many professional credits both  in NY and around the country.
