Sports Camp at Southampton

Future Stars is excited to offer Multi-Sports as one of our core summer camp programs. Summer 2013 at Future Stars Southampton will offer eight weekly sessions.

Ages 6-14 Boys & Girls June 24 - Aug 16

The program is designed to be the perfect blend of sports, recreational games, and camaraderie, with campers ages 6-14 participating in a multitude of exciting, fun-filled games.

The curriculum is designed to be fun and instructional, and includes age appropriate skill building activities. Campers will follow an exciting daily rotation, which will include swimming and a variety of sports and games. Directors, coaches and counselors are highly trained, experienced professionals recruited from all of the best recreational and educational programs in the area.

Campers learn all the fundamentals with which to build a solid sports foundation. They are taught proper technique, strategy, and sportsmanship with the same philosophy that has been the Future Stars trademark for over 25 years.

Sports and games will include: Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Track & Field, European Handball, Kickball, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Badminton, Table-Tennis, Touch Rugby, and more!

Facilities:

SRCSYS opened up its doors to the 55,000 square foot facility in June 2003 with the name Southampton Town Recreation Center.
The facility is a world-class athletic facility featuring world-class equipment and world-class services and the facility is one of the top sports and recreation facility in the United States.
During the year a broad array of activities has flourished within the Center and since the Summer of 2004, Future Stars has been providing the Summer Camp programs.    

SYS outdoor facilities include several playing fields, Baseball diamonds and swimming pool.

SYS indoor facilities include  Center Rink (90 x 135 sq. ft.)    Basketball  (lined for college play  94x50 ) , Soccer , Lacrosse, Roller Hockey, Tennis etc. The center rink has batter boards and netting for safe uninterrupted play. Elmaleh Stanton Squash Center -4 Singles Courts and 1 Doubles Courts. Blue Court & Red Court (84x 50 sq. ft.) -Basketball (lined for high school play) Volleyball and Recreational games. Cages Room  - 2 batting cages: baseball/softball Elevated Track - 1/7 of a mile. "A" Green Room (1,600 sq ft.) - multi purpose room. "B" Red Room (600 Sq ft.) - multi purpose room. Aerobics Room (800 sq. ft.) Men's and Women's Locker Rooms - showers, bathrooms and lockers.

DIRECTOR:

DirectorJohn Mees will be returning for his 5th season as director of Future Stars Summer Camp at Future Stars Southampton.  John had served as director of a tennis camp for 3 years prior to his service at Future Stars, and has taught tennis for over 10 years.  He received his bachelor degree from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill, and went on to earn Master’s degrees from both University of Connecticut and Stony Brook University. Currently, John serves as Spanish teacher at Mount Sinai High School where he coaches both golf and basketball.
