Future Stars Lacrosse Camp will offer boys and girls ages 7-16 an intensive week-long opportunity to become better lacrosse players under the direction of some of the area’s finest coaches. We are certain that campers will enjoy an unforgettable growth experience regardless of age or skill level. On and off the field campers share their passion for this dynamic game with others. Every facet of the game will be covered. Overall performance, self confidence, and fundamental skills will improve dramatically. As a result of individual growth campers will become more valuable team players.

For safety purposes, all campers must provide their own equipment. Please make sure you have these items prior to your arrival as we do not have equipment to rent or borrow.

Directors:

Director of Girl's Lacrosse: Jessica Sanna
Jessica is the lacrosse director at Future Stars Southampton. She graduated from Adelphi University with a degree in Physical Education. She is currently a physical education and health teacher for students Kindergarten through eighth grade. Jessica has experience coaching soccer, field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. Past experience consists of playing in Division II lacrosse and coaching varsity and club lacrosse on the East End.

Rich King is a co-founder of EESW (East End Sport and Wellness) and one of its primary coaches. He currently serves as a Physical Education teacher in the East Hampton school district, a position he has held since 2000. He is also the Head Coach of the Varsity Boys Soccer team and the Middle School Boys Lacrosse team. Rich received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Plattsburgh State, where he was a 3 time All-Region selection in soccer and ranks 5^th on the school’s all-time scoring list. He went on to receive his master’s degree in Physical Education from Hofstra University. In 2008 Rich earned his New York State certification in School Administration and Leadership from LIU Post.

Camps and Programs

Future Stars Southampton at North Sea Park offers numerous sports and specialty camp programs for boys and girls ages 3 ½-15. Summer 2018 will offer 9 program options to choose from.

Sports camp programs include: Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Multi-Sports, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Flag Football, Explorer and Little Stars. Our Little Stars program is a specialty program for younger children (ages 3 ½-5), designed to meet the diverse needs of these campers.

About the Facility

Future Stars Southampton is the East End's premier year round training facility. FSSH features eight state of the art outdoor tennis courts for the summer season. In September, we erect two climate-controlled domes: in one, we have four Har-Tru tennis courts, and in the other, an indoor turf field for sports such as soccer, lacrosse, baseball, football, field hockey and more.

The indoor season lasts until May, during which we have year-round athletic training, youth programming, and adult leagues. Future Stars Southampton LLC--which operates the 46,000 square foot indoor complex--is an affiliate of Future Stars Tennis LLC, one of New York's largest sports management companies.

Facilities also include a collegiate size basketball court, 25-meter swimming pool, indoor running track, pitching & batting cages, aerobic & exercise studio, and fitness & wellness area.

Outdoor fields for soccer, softball, lacrosse and field games are available adjacent to the indoor building.

Conveniently located at North Sea Park, just two miles north of the Village of Southampton, at 1370A Majors Path, adjacent to SYS/Southampton Town Rec Center.

Dates & Rates

Summer 2018 programs will run from June 11^th to August 31st. Flexible weekly scheduling is available. Each camp week runs Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm, except Little Stars, which runs until 2pm. Pricing is time sensitive. Transportation is available for an additional $160/week for select locations, you must reserve your spot on the bus 1 week (7 days) prior to their start date of camp. A lunch option is available to tennis campers for an additional $60/week as well as an option for 2pm dismissal, which is $75 less per week. Again, these options are for tennis campers only. Policies

Enrollment

Parents may enroll their campers by the week. We do not offer daily enrollment or rates. If a parent only wants to send their campers to camp for certain days during a week, that’s fine, but we would still need to charge the weekly rate.

Walk-Ins and Enrollment Deadline

A walk-in is defined as a camper who joins camp during the camp week without prior registration. This includes anyone who enrolls the weekend before camp starts, comes on Monday morning, or joins a camp program mid-week.

A walk-in fee will apply to any camper who joins a camp week but is not enrolled by 12 p.m. (noon) on the prior Friday. So, if someone wants to join camp the week of Monday, June 11, but is not enrolled by 12 p.m. on Friday, June 8, an additional $100 fee will be charged to their account. If a family adds multiple campers, the $100 fee will apply to all campers who were not enrolled. If they had one camper enrolled and are adding another camper, the $100 fee will apply to the camper who was not enrolled.

Cancellation

If a parent cancels anything before April 1^st, we can issue a refund for anything canceled, but there will be a $150 cancellation fee. On April 1, any balances on accounts will immediately be charged.

After April 1, we cannot issue any refunds. This includes anyone who signs up after April 1. Even if a camp family signs up and later that day wants to cancel, we cannot issue a refund. We can always, however, issue a credit to the account. This credit can be used in the same summer of cancellation or following summers and does not expire. The credit will be issued in a monetary value paid, not in camp weeks.

Please note that cancellations made may impact the discounts that the camper/family receive (i.e. multiple week, sibling, etc.).

Credits on accounts cannot be used towards any activities or events at our facility separate from camp. This means credit cannot go towards private lessons, open court times, clinics, pro shop items, or otherwise. Credits can only be used towards camp-related charges, including tuition, lunch, and transportation.

Half-Days

Many campers also have other obligations during the summer. If your camper is only able to come to Future Stars for part of the day, you can send your camper for the schedule that works for you, but we do not offer half-day rates or discounts.

We only offer a discount for a shortened day in our Tennis Camp. This is outlined on the registration form. The discount is $75 a week to leave at 2pm rather than at 4pm. If you need to pick your camper up before the scheduled time, that is of your own prerogative and discounts will not be given.

If you are planning on sending your camper to Future Stars for a time other than 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., please always let the office and counselors know so that they can be ready for you to pick them up.

Make-Up Days

We do not offer make-up days for missed days of camp unless they are medically cleared. Upon receiving an authorized doctor’s note stating that the camper was unable to participate in camp for the days missed, we can issue make-up days. Parents CANNOT do a make-up day without telling the office first. They MUST request a make-up day with the office staff directly.

Age Requirements

The age requirements vary depending on which program you’re enrolling your camper in. The age requirements are outlined below:

Little Stars: 3.5 – 5 years old

Explorer Camp: 8+ years old

All other camp programs: 5+ years old

If a camper does not meet the minimum age requirement, they must do a camp program that suits their age. Anyone under 5 years old MUST be in our Little Stars program. If they are turning 5 years old in the middle of the summer, they should be enrolled in Little Stars until their 5^th birthday, at which time they may enroll in any other camp program. The switch cannot be mid-week. They should enroll according to enrollment policies, which is by the week.

Little Stars Requirements

Our Little Stars program is for campers between the ages of 3.5-5 years old. The camper MUST be 3.5 years old at the time of enrollment. The camper MUST be fully potty-trained. Anyone who wants to enroll their camper who will not yet be 3.5 years old by the date of enrollment must be cleared by the Little Stars camp director. This decision must be made no further than a month before the date of enrollment, as it is difficult to tell the development that will be made if someone wants to enroll their child, say, six months in advance and they will not yet be 3.5 years old.

Transportation

Future Stars Southampton offers door-to-door transportation from Westhampton to Watermill. Anyone living East of Watermill will be picked up at the Bridgehampton Starbucks. Parents must notify the office at least one week, or 7 days, in advance of the week that the camper will be taking the bus. Please note that the office must be notified 7 days prior to the start date of the camp week, not necessarily 7 days before your camper is starting camp. For example, if you plan on using transportation for the week of Monday, June 18, the office must be notified by Monday, June 11 – even if you do not plan on sending your camper to camp until a later day during that week.*

If you do not request transportation by the 7 day in advance deadline, we cannot provide transportation.

Any changes to your transportation schedule must be relayed to the main office. For example, if your camper normally takes the bus but is being picked up by a parent/babysitter, if your camper is only taking the bus for select days of the week, if your camper only takes the bus in the mornings, et cetera, the office must be notified directly. It is important that the main office be communicated with directly as the main office is in contact with the bus company. Please do not rely on third-parties separate from office management and/or office assistants to relay this important information appropriately and accurately. This includes counselors.

Transportation runs twice a day – once in the morning for 9:00am drop-off, and once in the afternoon for 4:00pm pickup. If a camper is in Little Stars, the camper will need to stay for the extended day program until 4:00pm as there is not a bus at 2:00pm. There is an additional $100 charge for Little Stars Extended Day, and a $150 charge for Little Stars Extended Day Tennis.

The cost of transportation is $160 per week, per camper. This price is non-negotiable. If you choose to send your camper on the bus for one-way transportation (ex. only on the way to camp, only on the way home from camp), or only for select days out of the camp week, we will accommodate, however we cannot prorate the cost of transportation.

Due to transportation enrollment running on a weekly basis, we cannot give an accurate estimate for pick-up or drop-off times until the bus routes have been assembled. The bus routes will be assembled once we have an accurate count for campers taking the bus during that week.

If your camper is enrolled for camp and transportation for multiple weeks out of the summer, please do not assume that the pick-up time will be the same every week. Our office will alert parents the estimated pick-up and drop-off time by the Thursday before the start date of the camp week. So, if your camper is attending camp for the week of Monday, June 18, expect an email either on or before Thursday, June 14.

These terms and conditions are subject to change.

*Please note that we do not prorate camp tuition if your camper is not utilizing all 5 days of the camp week. If you choose to send your camper to camp for a partial week, that is fine, but we cannot prorate camp tuition, nor the cost of transportation.

Changes in Schedule

If a parent makes any changes to a camper’s day-to-day schedule, the office must be notified directly. So, if a parent is picking up a child that normally takes the bus, if a camper is going home with their friend, if one of the counselors is their babysitter and will be taking the camper home, etc., the office must be notified. Even if a parent lets a counselor, other parent, child, or other third-party know of the change, the office must be contacted in addition to the third-party.

Switching Camp Programs

Campers can switch into different camp programs with ease. There is no fee for switching. The only time there might be an inconvenience is when a camper is switching into programs with a different price than the program in which the camper was originally enrolled. If they are switching out of a more expensive program, the difference will go as a credit toward their account. If they are switching into a more expensive program, the difference will be charged to their account.

FAQ

What’s the camper to counselor ratio?

Our camper to counselor ratio is 5:1 across the board. That includes all camp programs. Some older groups might have 6 kids per group, and the younger groups will likely having 3 or 4 kids per group.

Is there camp on July 4?

Yes.

If I don’t send my camper to Future Stars on July 4, will I be prorated?

No.

Will my camper go in the pool?

All camp programs go in the pool for one hour per day.

What if s/he doesn’t want to? What is my camper cannot swim?

If you kid would like to opt out of pool time, we will not force anyone to go in the pool. We encourage kids to try new things, but we will never force a kid if they are not comfortable or cannot swim. The camper will need to stay with the group. If there are several kids who do not want to go in the pool, a counselor may take the group elsewhere to do a different activity.

Is it free swim or instructional?

Swim is instructional for kids up to age 5. All other groups are free swim.

Instructional swim is a Red Cross certified parent-child swim class. The swim class for younger kids will be 1:1, with two lifeguards on duty, another two lifeguards in the pool with the kids, and counselors in the pool with them.

How many lifeguards are there?

There are four lifeguards on duty at all times. The counselors will also be in the pool with their group.

Are there floaties/pool equipment?

Yes. You do not have to bring floaties with you unless you want to.

Is the pool heated?

No.

I signed my kid up for four weeks of baseball, but he actually wants to do basketball for two of those weeks. Can we move him into a different camp program?

Yes. We can switch programs as long as it’s before the start date of the camp week. There is no additional cost unless the camp programs are different rates. The difference will be charged. If you camper is switching into a less expensive camp week, the difference will go as a credit on the account.

Can they switch programs in the middle of the week?

No.

I’m only going to be there for three days. Can we do a half-week?

You are allowed to send your camper to camp for the days that work with your schedule, however the camp week will not be prorated and you should let the office know in advance.

Can my kid do two days of one program and three days of another?

No.

What if they don’t like camp after the first day?

We encourage campers to stick with the camp that they’re enrolled for, as we do not allow campers to switch mid-week. If there is a problem with the program, please refer parents to the camp director and to management to work something out.

Do they do arts and crafts?

The only camp program that does arts and crafts is Little Stars. No other program will do arts and crafts in their regular camp routine.

Do they do gymnastics?

Camp programs will occasionally use the gymnastics facility at the rec center.

Can my camper do a half-day at Future Stars after gymnastics camp?

You’re free to send your kid to camp for the hours that work for you, as long as you let the counselors and main office know in advance so we can accommodate the schedule. However, the cost of camp will not be prorated.

Are there half-day options?

Regular dismissal for all camp programs except Little Stars is 4pm. Little Stars dismisses at 2pm. We have a 2pm dismissal option for tennis camp, which saves $75/week. No other camp program has a 2pm dismissal option, but you are allowed to pick your camper up early. Please let the main office know if there is a change in your schedule so your camper can be ready at the anticipated time of pick-up.

Is lunch provided or do I have to pack them with lunch?

You should pack your camper with lunch. We offer an additional lunch option for tennis camp only, which is $60/week.

What if my kid doesn’t like the lunch? Will I be refunded?

We serve typical kids’ food such as pizza, chicken fingers, etc. If they do not like the lunch, we cannot refund any lunches that they’ve had, but we can credit any lunches they have no yet had.

My kid only wants to do one of the lunch options. Can we pay by the day?

Yes. Please always let the counselor know at check-in.

My camper has an allergy. What will your counselors do to prevent any reactions?

You should let us know on the medical form what allergies your camper has. It’s also a good idea to let the counselors know at check-in that they have an allergy as well. Counselors will keep an eye on the kids at lunch so that they don’t share any food with other campers that contain the allergen. If your camper has an Epi-Pen, please leave it with our medical technician with a doctor’s note clearing the facility to administer the drug in case of an emergency.

Is the campus nut-free?

Yes. Campers should not bring lunches with any nuts.

Can I drop my kid off early?

No. Drop off is at 9am. Since counselors are still prepping for the camp day until drop-off, there will not be a counselor to watch your camper before 9am.

Can I pick my kid up late?

No, pick up is at 4pm (or 2pm if they do early pick up from tennis, or are in Little Stars). We understand that sometimes there is traffic or things happen that may cause you to run late. Please call the office if you are running significantly late to pick up your camper.

Can my kid be in the same group as their friend?

We can request that kids are grouped together and we will do our best to accommodate the request, but we cannot guarantee that they will be in the same group. Usually, we can put them together.

How are the kids grouped?

Kids are grouped primarily by age, and then by ability.

Are groups co-ed?

Yes.

My kid wants to do soccer, but she’s never played before. Is that a problem?

No, that’s not a problem. We have beginners in every sport program.

My camper has been playing tennis for years and is very experienced for his age. Is he going to be grouped with the older/more advanced kids?

We will first group the kids by age. If we find that your camper fits better with an older group, we will place them with the older group. That will be assessed at camp, not before.

What group is my kid in?

Tennis groups by age:

- Wimbledon: 5-7

- French Open: 7-10

- US Open: 10+

My kid is very athletic. Can they be aged out of Little Stars early?

No.

My kid isn’t potty trained. Can I still put them in Little Stars?

No. Campers MUST be potty trained.

What happens when it rains?

They will go inside.

I live in Sagaponack. Can I get door-to-door pick up?

No. Anyone living east of Bridgehampton will have the option to be picked up at the central pickup, which is at the village Bridgehampton Starbucks. We cannot do door-to-door pickup for anyone in or east of Bridgehampton.

I need transportation just for one day. Can I get that prorated?

No.

I need to put my kid on the bus tomorrow.

We need to know a week in advance. We cannot add campers to the bus routes mid-week.

Are there seat belts?

Yes, all the buses have seat belts.

What time is pick up?

Since transportation enrollment operates on a week-by-week basis, we do not assemble bus routes until the week prior. Therefore, we cannot give an estimated time of pick up until a week before.

Who’s the bus driver?

We will alert parents who their bus driver will be in the email with the pick-up times.

I need to cancel a camp week. Can I get a full refund?

No. We cannot issue refunds after April 1. We can, however, credit the account. The credit that is issued to your account will not expire and can be used next summer for anyone in your family.

Can I sign up over the phone?

It is recommended that parents enroll their campers using our online application form. Since we require a signature (online or on the paper application), new camp families should use one of those two methods.

Is there extra equipment at the facility that my kid can use?

Yes.

Where are you located?

1370A Majors Path in Southampton. It’s about 10 minutes north of the village, at the same location as the town rec center, and next door to the recycling center.

Can my kid bring his phone/iPad/other electronics to camp?

They are allowed to bring their phones to camp, but they should be left in their backpacks. We do not recommend sending kids with lots of expensive electronics, as many kids lose their things at camp. We are not responsible for any lost items at camp, but we do have a lost and found.
