Coding Concepts at Future Stars Old Westbury is part of our comprehensive STEAM Education camp experience. - Summer 2024 Dates = July 8-12.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math)
Technology helps us communicate, Math is the language, Science and Engineering are the process for thinking, and Art helps us merge form with function. All of these can lead to innovation.
An exciting weekly session developed for elementary aged Boys & Girls, this program follows a project based curriculum.
Campers will use Dash robots that are designed as coding platforms to help them learn to code. The Blockly App introduces fundamental and advanced coding concepts through playful projects and puzzles. Campers learn about coding by exploring variables, events, conditionals, and more.
Teachers may/will also incorporate Scratch, which is a program that lets campers create using code blocks. It teaches them the basics of coding and problem solving on the computer.
Utilizing the state-of-the-art facilities on campus, campers will learn in collegiate classrooms and/or computer labs with all necessary equipment provided.
A typical daily schedule is available on our STEAM Education Camps page , with campers supplementing their curriculum work with the recreational swim, water slides, and recreational activity options.
