ELEVATE YOUR GAME ON AND OFF THE COURT

Future Stars Basketball Camp teaches campers to become well-rounded, team-oriented players. Campers receive specialized instruction focusing on dribbling, ball handling, passing, shooting, and rebounding.
Experienced high school and college coaches guide campers through small group instruction, close supervision, quality gameplay, and emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork. Campers are grouped by age and ability.

Building Skills That Last Beyond Basketball Camp

  • Dribbling – Build confident ball control with both hands, smooth direction changes, and solid protection from defenders
  • Shooting – Improve shooting form, accuracy, and consistency from various spots on the court
  • Free Throws – Develop a steady free-throw routine to stay calm, focused, and reliable at the line
  • Ball Handling – Strengthen overall control with drills that boost quick reactions and smooth movement with the ball
  • Footwork – Sharpen balance, pivots, and movement to create better scoring chances and stronger defense

The University of Southern Maine is located in the heart of Portland. The campus is conveniently located in the Oakdale neighborhood, just off Interstate 295 via the Forest Avenue exit, making it easily accessible by car from downtown and surrounding areas.

BASKETBALL CAMP DAILY SCHEDULE

9:00-9:15 am: Orientation/Morning Shoot-Around

9:30 am: Instructional Stations

11:00 am: Skills Competitions

12:00 pm: Lunch

1:00 pm: Pool/Off-court Activity

2:00 pm: Situational Games and Scrimmages

3:00 pm: Departure

Steve Bower

Steve Bower

Basketball Director

Coming into his fourth summer working with us, Steve brings a ton of experience, knowledge, and energy to camp. He is in his second year as the Head Womens Basketball Coach at Purchase College and loves nothing more than to be helping to educate and foster players love for the game. Prior to Purchase, he accumulated nearly 10 years of experience as an Assistant Coach in New Haven, Plymouth, and Cathedral.

Steve has put together an outstanding group of coaches who love teaching the game of basketball and strive to make every day a great day for every camper. He is super excited to see you all on the court this coming summer!
