Director: Ryan Pembroke Ryan is excited to take the reins of the Future Stars baseball program at St. Joseph’s College. As a local product, Ryan has spent the last 10 years sharing his expertise in all aspects of baseball here on Long Island.

Ryan began to shine as a baseball player at Shoreham Wading River High School where he received all-county honors, and was given the illustrious Suffolk County Gold Glove Award at second base.

After high school, after first playing at St. Joseph’s College for one year, Ryan transferred to Farmingdale State College. At FSC, Ryan was the starting second baseman and 2-year captain. Additionally, it was at Farmingdale that he earned conference player of the week honors.

Upon culminating his collegiate studies and career, Ryan spent the next 7 years playing professional baseball. During his pro career, Ryan was named All-Star second baseman twice; once in 2008 for the New York Federals, and then again in 2010 for the Coastal Kingfish of the Continental Baseball League.

Since 2007, Ryan has been sharing his knowledge of and passion in the sport of baseball as a coach and instructor. He has served as hitting and fielding instructor at both the Performance Factory and Keith Osik’s MLI. From 2011-2014, Ryan coached the Long Island Prospects Pro-Elite Showcase Team. Currently, Ryan is the head baseball instructor at GameDay Sports Performance, manager of the East Coast Lumberjacks, and assistant varsity coach at Mount Sinai High School, where he helped lead the Mustangs to the Class A Suffolk County Championship in 2016.

Ryan’s greatest pleasure is seeing the kids he works with move on to the collegiate level in the sport he loves. In fact, since 2016, Ryan has coached and/or trained 30 recipients of D-1 scholarships in baseball.
