Director of Girls Lacrosse: Kasey Mitchell

Kasey Mitchell joins the Future Stars family as director of the girls' lacrosse progam. You would be hard-pressed to find someone with a more decorated and storied scholastic career in lacrosse.

Kasey played both lacrosse and soccer at Mount Sinai HS.  During her career, Kasey was an All-American selection as a senior to follow two-time all-county honors, along with an all-division selection as an eighth-grader and all-tournament honors in seventh grade.  She played on a stretch of impressive teams at Mt. Sinai, winning the state championship twice as both a sophomore and senior and culminating with a 56-3 team record over her final three seasons.  Kasey was also an all-conference goalie in soccer.

Kasey was recruited by many of the top D-1 schools in the nation, but decided to stay close and play for the Seawolves of Stony Brook.  During Kasey’s career at Stony Brook, the girls lacrosse program won 4 consecutive America East Conference titles and qualified for the NCAA tournament each year, making it all the way to the quarterfinals in 2018.   Kasey was selected to the America East All-Championship team after scoring three goals against Syracuse and notching the winning goal as time expired against Albany in the championship game.  As a junior, she registered the only multi-point game of the season, helping Stony Brook reach the program’s first ever No.1 national ranking.

Kasey graduated from Stony Brook w/ a B.S. in sports science and is pursuing her graduate studies in education at St. Joseph’s College (where her father played his college lacrosse).  Kasey has two younger sisters, both of whom will be attending Stony Brook University to follow in their big sister’s footsteps.

Director of Boys Lacrosse: Anthony Cascio

Coach Anthony is passionate about all things lacrosse. He brings with him 25 years of coaching experience. Anthony earned a bachelor's degree in history from Dowling College (1995). Subsequently, he earned a master's degree from Dowling College in Special Education (1998). While working towards his master’s at Dowling, Anthony coached two years with the Dowling College Lions as the defensive coordinator. During this time, Dowling became a nationally ranked top ten team. Coach Anthony moved on to become a teacher at Half Hollow Hills West in 1998 and since then has coached lacrosse both at the middle and high school levels.

Coach Anthony believes that meaningfully contributing to the growth and development of the young men and women under his care is the most important part of his job. He has been fortunate to see firsthand how sports and working towards a common goal can develop traits like leadership, courage, trust, respect and accountability.

Coach Anthony was born and raised in Bay Shore, New York. He has enjoyed living on Long Island his entire life with his two children Tristan (16) and Aidan (14)
