The Future Stars Softball Camp is designed to teach and inspire girls ages 6-14 to become better, more confident, complete players. With the perfect balance of skill building, sportsmanship, competition, and fun, all campers will enjoy a memorable summer experience. Players will work individually and as teams to improve their offense, defense, hitting, fielding, base running and tactical skills. Experienced high school, collegiate and specialty coaches will work tirelessly to improve everyone’s play.

Director: Lisa Jusino
Lisa Jusino was hired by St. Joseph’s College (L.I.) as head softball coach in July, 2015. She arrived from Briarcliff where she spent the previous nine years.
Since 2010, Jusino served as head coach of the Bulldogs, who posted a 118-42-1 under her direction and appeared in the Small College World Series in every season, finishing as high as third place. From 2006-2010, Jusino held the position of assistant coach, holding responsibilities including the directing of numerous camps and clinics and ensuring USCAA compliance. During Jusino’s nine years at Briarcliffe, the Bulldogs posted a 194-91-1 overall record.
From 2001 to 2006, Jusino was an assistant softball coach at Adelphi University, where she planned practices, coordinated instructional hitting drills and helped to maintain NCAA compliance.
Jusino was also a four-year letterwinner at Adelphi from 1998 to 2001 and was named an NFCA Academic All-American in her junior year. A 2001 first team All-ECC selection, Jusino was inducted into the Adelphi Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.
In addition to her coaching and playing experience, Jusino has worked as a private hitting instructor at Strictly Softball Inc. since 2001 and as a head counselor at Luhi Summer Programs since 2013. From 2013 to 2014, Jusino worked as an aide at Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism.
A 2001 graduate of Adelphi University with a B.A. in communications, Jusino currently resides in East Meadow, NY.
Camps and Programs
Future Stars Summer Camps at St. Joseph's College offers premier programs. Summer 2019 will offer a variety of program options for campers from Kindergarten to 16 years old.
Sports camp programs include: Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Flag Football, Multi-Sports, Softball, Field Hockey, Cheerleading and Volleyball. Specialty camp programs include: Magic and Dance. S.T.E.A.M Education programs include; FS Engineering & Design, Draw & Paint, Mega Bits-Coding Concepts, Tera Bits-App/Video Game Design, 3D Building w/ Minecraft and Robotics. Our Rising Stars program is a specialty program for younger campers ages 2.5-5.
About the Facility
St. Joseph's College on Long Island located in Patchogue at 155 West Roe Boulevard is spread over a 30-acre lakeside campus comfortably located on the South Shore of Easter Long Island.
The John A. Danzi Athletic Center contains a number of outstanding features for camp use including: 25-yard heated swimming pool, strength training room, aerobics/dance room, basketball courts, volleyball courts, elevated track (1/12 mile), state-of-the-art fitness room, men’s and women’s locker rooms and lavatories.
The new 25-acre outdoor field complex will be the focal point for many of our sport specific programs. The Danzi Stadium Includes a 400-meter all-weather track (six-lane turns, eight-lane straights), long jump pits, high jump and pole vault areas, synthetic turf field for soccer and lacrosse and a grandstand. Gregg Alfano Field features a synthetic turf infield, clay pitcher’s mound, natural grass outfield that reaches 403 feet in center field, bleachers and dugouts. The Softball Stadium Includes a clay infield, a natural grass outfield that reaches 210 feet to dead center and dugouts. The facility also includes six new Deco Turf tennis courts.
Future Stars Summer Camp programs have exclusive use of the athletic facilities on campus during the summer. Campers must bring their own lunch packed in a cooler bag. There are plenty of drinking water fountains throughout campus, in addition to vending machines should your camper wish to purchase a drink during the day. All campers have the option for a daily recreational swim period under the supervision of our certified water safety instructors and lifeguards (please note that Little Stars campers have instructional swim).
John Mees has been chosen as the new Future Stars Site Director for St Joe’s. He has uniquely qualified himself after serving as director of our sports camp package in Southampton for 10 years. During his tenure in Southampton, John designed the curriculum and organized the staff for a site that hosted as many as 300 campers a day. Prior to joining Future Stars, John served as a tennis camp director.
John received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill, and went on to earn master’s degrees from both the University of Connecticut and Stony Brook University. Currently, John serves as Spanish teacher at Mount Sinai High School, where he coaches both golf and basketball. John currently lives in Sayville with his wife.
Dates and Rates
Summer 2019 programs will run from June 24th to August 23rd. Flexible weekly scheduling is available. Each camp week is Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Pricing is time sensitive as outlined below.
